Our Story
Established in 2008 by Director James Tomlinson, JT Northwest Limited has evolved from a plant-focused operation into a fully integrated civil engineering and groundworks contractor.
Operating predominantly across the Northwest, the business has grown through consistent delivery, technical capability, and a proactive approach to problem solving — enabling us to undertake increasingly complex infrastructure schemes while maintaining a hands-on, client-focused ethos.
Our Recent Projects
Quality is embedded at every stage of our operations. We implement robust quality control procedures to ensure all works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings and specifications, industry standards and adoptable criteria and our clients regulatory requirements.
All works are recorded through site documentation including inspection test plans, daily records, quality assurance evidence/ recording and sign-off procedures — ensuring full traceability and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
At JT Northwest Limited, health and safety is at the core of everything we do. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of compliance, ensuring all works are delivered in line with current legislation, approved safe systems of work and industry best practice.
We invest in the ongoing training and development of our workforce, promoting a strong safety culture built on awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement. Through regular consultation with our teams, we actively seek feedback to improve how we plan and deliver our works safely. Our “Don’t Walk By” approach encourages all personnel to challenge unsafe behaviour, report hazards, and take personal ownership of safety on site.
Through proactive monitoring, supervision, and engagement, we ensure all aspects of safety are continually reviewed and controlled — with the clear objective that everyone goes home safe every day.
JT Northwest Limited is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations through careful planning, responsible material management, and sustainable construction practices.
We actively design our workflows to:
- Minimise material waste through efficient design and reuse strategies
- Reduce vehicle movements and associated emissions by optimising logistics
- Protect local environments, including rivers, watercourses, and surrounding habitats
All waste materials are handled responsibly using licensed waste carriers, with full compliance to environmental regulations. Wherever possible, materials are reused on-site or sourced sustainably to reduce overall project impact.
Our approach ensures that environmental protection is not an afterthought — it is integrated into the way we plan and deliver every project.
